This is an important question and the answer is that it most definitely is NOT. But it is also true that more than 95% of those trying to run an online business fail to capitalize on the unique targeted traffic that is available to them in the Internet market place. Without domain traffic you really don’t have a business worthy of the name, no matter how slick your website or online store. Traffic is key!

Now there is a further question to ask. Is all traffic good traffic – do you want as many visitors as possible? The answer here is a resounding NO! There is nothing more discouraging than seeing you have had thousands of visitors and not one of them has bought a thing. This happens. Believe me it does – and you don’t want it to happen to you. But how can you change this so that your visitors do what you expect of them?

Disregarding for a moment the importance of your website design – and that is an important factor – let’s just think about the visitors. Unless you hang a hook baited with the right bait, you will end up with all the vultures and scroungers at you site who only want something if it’s free. They will take anything as long as it doesn’t cost anything. But these people are not what you want.

You have to establish a system for guaranteed traffic that will literally drive unique qualified visitors to your pages – people who have already been pre-selected to be hungry for your offer. If you do this, you will make sales – and lots of them, and I will be talking in later posts about the best ways of doing this.
